Swedish FTD Initiative Symposium
Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) is a complex neurodegenerative disorder characterised by a large variety of genetic associations, underlying pathologies and clinical symptoms. As of today, there are no treatments available that have preventative and/or curative effects on the disease.
Swedish FTD Initiative is a multidisciplinary consortium created in 2017 by the support of The Schörling Foundation, and consists of four principal investigators from Karolinska Institutet, KTH Royal institute of Technology and Science for Life Laboratory. The Swedish FTD initiative is hosting a multidisciplinary symposium to spread recent findings in frontotemporal dementia research to clinicians and scientists within the field. The Swedish FTD initiative Symposium 2019 will provide an excellent environment for reconciling experts as well as identifying promising young researchers. By combining state-of-the-art keynote lectures, with presentations from Swedish and Norwegian research groups and memory clinics we aim to lay the foundation for future national and international collaborations within the field of frontotemporal dementia. There will be a moderator led panel discussion allowing for interactive brainstorming between delegates, steering committee and keynote speakers, as well as a networking session giving young researchers the opportunity to talk to the speakers one-on-one.
The symposium is scientific and will be held in English. For more information please contact FTDemens@nvs.ki.se
