The SciLifeLab and Wallenberg national program for Data-Driven Life Science (DDLS) was launched in 2020 and is supported by funding from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation (KAW). This 12-year initiative is hosted by SciLifeLab and focuses on four strategic areas of research in Sweden: Cell and Molecular Biology, Evolution and Biodiversity, Precision Medicine and Diagnostics, and Epidemiology and Biology of Infection. Each research area will have a Data Science Node (DSN) to support data-driven life science research.
The DSN on precision medicine and diagnostics is hosted by Karolinska Institutet. The goal of DSN is to provide a technical environment for data-driven life science, with tools, systems, databases, support functions, and other components linking up data, researchers, and e-infrastructures. Additionally, DSN offers bioinformatics support for the establishment and development of precision medicine and diagnostics in Sweden. This is done in conjunction with the SciLifeLab Data Centre and the SciLifeLab National Bioinformatics Infrastructure Sweden (NBIS).
To achieve the stated goals, the precision medicine and diagnostics DSN seeks input from research area leads, the research community, and expert groups. We, therefore, invite you to take a brief survey to provide feedback on community needs in the precision medicine and diagnostics field and help prioritize projects for the precision medicine and diagnostics research area. The survey is anonymous, will take approximately 5 minutes to complete, and is open for submission until August 25th, 2023.
