Integrated X-ray and biomedical imaging for the future of pathology (IXBI)

The IXBI initiative (VR excellence cluster pre-project) invites nominations for project proposals aimed at advancing disease-focused research through the integration of imaging technologies with the goal of developing an end-to-end pipeline for solid biopsies. Interested participants are requested to submit a nomination by January 15th, confirming their interest in participation and providing a concise description of their proposed project. Submissions should outline the relevant disease area, existing collaborations and publications, current use of imaging technologies within the workflow, and the anticipated potential and benefits of further integrating the imaging technologies developed within the IXBI project.

Following the submission deadline, all proposals will be reviewed by the IXBI executive group in collaboration with the technology area leads. Applicants will be notified of the selection outcome by January 22nd. Project selection will be based on technical feasibility, anticipated clinical impact, complementarity across scientific and disease areas, national and geographical representation, and the overall maturity and scientific profile of the proposed research area.

This call aims to identify a complementary and balanced portfolio of projects that can meaningfully benefit from IXBI integrated imaging technologies and provide first use cases to allow their development towards future translational and clinical impact.
