The RCPs are aimed to facilitate internationally competitive, cutting-edge collaborative research across Sweden. PIs from any Swedish university can be participating in, or coordinating a RCP.

SciLifeLab and the Wallenberg Centers for Molecular Medicine have formed a national collaborative network to bring together the future leaders of life science and molecular medicine. The effort is co-funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg foundation and the aim is to promote scientific interactions and technological networking.

Antibody validation rewrites story of estrogen receptor β

A new study by Cecilia Williams (KTH/ SciLifeLab) and colleagues uncovers that the notion of estrogen receptor beta playing a role in breast cancer is based on analyses with inadequate antibodies. The results show that other proteins are mistakenly identified as ERβ, which cannot even be detected in breast cancer tissue when using the only antibody with sufficient specificity.
