National course open for PhD students (prioritized), postdocs, researchers and other employees in need of SEM and TEM skills.
Registration deadline: August 24
Course leader: Cheng Choo Lee (Nikki), firstname.lastname@example.org
The Basic EM Course provides general and basic introduction to PhD students and postdocs, who would like to work with EM methods in their projects. The course covers fundamental theory and operational principles as well as specimen preparation techniques for scanning and transmission electron microscopy (SEM/TEM). We accept participants from all research departments and universities.
Due to space constraints, there is a maximum number of allowed participants. If we receive more applications, participants will be selected based on several criteria. Selection criteria include level of EM experience, current research project and motivation to attend the course as well as geographical balance.
Teachers: from UCEM and UmU researchers and group leaders
Guest course lecture SEM and sample preparation: Ola Gustafsson (LG), LU
Invited research speaker: Reine Wallenberg, LU
Cryo-EM systems at UmU and technology updates: Thomas Hoffman (TH), Thermo Fischer (former FEI)
