SUMMARY:SBDI Researcher Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to this SBDI Researcher Meeting inviting interested researchers and others working with biodiversity data\, especially at KTH\, KI and SciLifeLab Campus Solna.    \n\n\n\nBackground: The Swedish Biodiversity Data Infrastructure (SBDI) is preparing to apply to the Swedish Research Council (VR) research infrastructure of national interest call in early 2027. As part of the preparations\, SBDI will hold Researcher Meetings with relevant researcher groups across Sweden during 2026. \n\n\n\nPurpose: The purpose of the meetings is to better understand the needs of current and potential users of SBDI and to identify important areas for future development. Discussions will focus on how researchers use biodiversity data and the infrastructure today\, where there are gaps or barriers\, and what services\, data\, tools or support could strengthen future research. \n\n\n\nThis meeting is open for anyone interested. We will be offering a light lunch for those who have registered by the 14th of October.  \n\n\n\nLink to Registration\n\n\n\nAgenda \n\n\n\nThe meeting will include brief information about SBDI and GBIF\, examples of data being uploaded/used\, and tools developed by SBDI. There will also be ample time for questions and discussion. \n\n\n\n\n12.00-12.20 Introduction to SBDI & GBIF Sweden\n\n\n\n12.20-12.35 Example tool: ASV portal for metabarcoding data\n\n\n\n12.35-12.50 Example datasets\, use-cases and connections to machine learning: Marine Plankton Data: imaging and metabarcoding\, Insect Biome Atlas\, DarkTree\, Finance to Revive Biodiversity\n\n\n\n12.50-13.00 One health: VectorNet\, Bat hotspots and pandemic preparedness\n\n\n\n13.00-13.40 Discussion and input from researchers on needs and future development of SBDI and GBIF Sweden
