SUMMARY:Practical and theoretical considerations using digital sequencing in liquid biopsy analysis (SiMSen-seq)
DESCRIPTION:SiMSen-Seq is a core techonology that offers digital resolution with close to error-free sequencing and minimal quantification biases. This approach is flexible and easy to adapt to a wide range of applications\, such as detection of circulating tumor-DNA in essentially any tumor entity\, immune repertoire profiling\, and detection of environmental DNA. \n\n\n\nThe technology was invented by Prof. Anders Ståhlberg in collaboration with Tony Godfrey\, Boston University (Ståhlberg et al.\, Nat Protocol 2017: PMID: 28253235) and until now it has only been provided to selected research collaborators. To be able to offer this state-of-the-art technique nationwide and facilitate its introduction into healthcare  we are now integrating SiMSen-Seq as a research service into the SciLifeLab Clinical Genomics plafform. \n\n\n\nBefore the seminar\, there will be a mingling session with coffee and cake served in the Academicum foyer\, outside the lecture hall\, between 14:30-15:00. \n\n\n\nRead more

SUMMARY:Open Hearing: Gothenburg Phenomics – Proof of Concept Project Invitation
DESCRIPTION:The aim is to establish proof-of-concept for life science research with expressed (pre-)clinical relevance. This will be achieved by forming a closed loop from biomedical research question (initiated by pre-clinical researchers) to returning actionable biological results\, in terms of mechanisms and potential biomarkers and targets. \n\n\n\nIn this open hearing we would like to identify preclinical and clinical research questions where samples and data are available for proof of concept for a combined metabolomics/proteomics/data analysis study. We will coordinate data deliveries from platforms to data storage via inferential analysis and extraction of biomarkers and mechanisms of interest go from compute and back to the biomedical researcher (question owner). \n\n\n\nRegistration and more information
