My scientific activities have two main focuses:

1) Developing and providing cutting edge capabilities for molecular environmental studies and surveillance projects ranging from eDNA-based biodiversity assessment to wastewater-based surveillance (WBS) of pathogens.

2) Microbial community ecology with primary interest on microbial dispersal mechanisms and their drivers.
