Job description

We are seeking a research engineer to join our team working on the development and application of spatial proteomics approaches. The position focuses on practical, microscopy-based work in human and animal tissues, supporting various projects aimed at understanding biological processes in health and disease.

Responsibilities include designing, performing, and optimizing experimental workflows, including tissue preparation and sectioning, antibody-based assays, and highly multiplexed immunostaining and microscopy, as well as contributing to the implementation of new technologies and laboratory workflows.

The role also involves basic image analysis of single-cell–resolved immunofluorescence data, including cell segmentation and quality control, along with structured documentation and data management. You will collaborate closely with team members and contribute to data visualization, interpretation, and scientific manuscripts through experimental and analytical support, including figure generation.

The research engineer will be based at SciLifeLab Stockholm and KTH, Department of Protein Science, within the team of Burcu Ayoglu.
