Welcome SciLifeLab’s second cohort of PULSE postdocs
Our second cohort of 28 SciLifeLab PULSE postdocs are recruited and are joining SciLifeLab’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Cofund postdoctoral program in October, being hosted and mentored by a SciLifeLab Group Leader. With the recruitment of the second cohort, PULSE has recruited a total of 48 early career life science scientists, marking the completion of the program’s recruitment phase.
During the course of the PULSE program, the postdocs have three-year fellowships at participating Swedish universities, with access to SciLifeLab infrastructure, training in transferable skills and entrepreneurship, career development and secondments with academic and industry partners in Sweden and abroad.
The program’s academic track supports research within cell and molecular biology, precision medicine and diagnostics, evolution and biodiversity, and epidemiology and infection biology. The entrepreneurial track focuses on developing technologies for drug discovery, including machine learning, therapeutic oligonucleotides, display and selection technologies, and proximity-inducing agents, supported by the SciLifeLab The Drug Discovery & Development platform (DDD) and in close collaboration with an industry partner.
“Recruiting the second and final cohort is an important milestone for PULSE. The new postdocs bring a broad range of research ideas and international perspectives, and we look forward to welcoming them into the program and to support them in becoming tomorrow’s leaders in life science,” says Disa Larsson Hammarlöf, PULSE program manager.
