The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics. SciLifeLab (SciLifeLab) is a national center for molecular biosciences with a focus on health and environmental research. The center combines frontline technical expertise with advanced knowledge of translational medicine and molecular bioscience. SciLifeLab is a national resource hosted by Karolinska Institutet, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm University and Uppsala University. The center also collaborates with several other universities.

Main responsibilities
The Pollak Dorocic lab at Stockholm University studies the diversity of neuromodulatory neurons and circuits in the brain. We use a combination of molecular and systems neuroscience tools to visualize, record, and manipulate neural populations to understand their function and contribution to behaviour.
Main responsibilities are hands-on laboratory work, including molecular biology, microscopy, neural recordings and animal model behavioral assays. The candidate will be involved in different research projects in the lab, and will also have the possibility to develop their own project.

Qualification requirements
We are looking for someone with previous experience in neuroscience research, including rodent stereotaxic surgery, behavioral assays, in vivo electrophysiological or calcium recordings, and computational analysis.
About the employment
This is a full-time, term-limited employment of 12 months’ duration. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date during the second half of 2026.
