Science for Life Laboratory (SciLifeLab) is a national infrastructure for life science research in Sweden and a collaboration between Swedish universities. Everyone at SciLifeLab is employed at one of the partner universities. Since 2013, SciLifeLab is assigned by the Swedish government to operate national infrastructure, to provide cutting-edge life science technologies and -expertise to Swedish researchers, and to be a top international center for research in health- and environment sciences. SciLifeLab is also hosting a national COVID-19 research program and a new large research program for Data-Driven Life Sciences (DDLS), with eleven partner organizations.
The successful candidate will work at the joint technology-driven innovation milieu for precision medicine established together with Karolinska Institutet (KI), Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset (KS) och SciLifeLab. This joint hub is an important local and national hub to implement novel research technologies and develop data-drive and AI within precision medicine and closely linked to international projects in this field. The employment is at the department of Oncology-Pathology KI, and will be lead through the SciLifeLab Data Centre (DC)in close collaboration with the Data Science Node (DSN) for precision medicine and diagnostics. Specifically, this employment is to establish access to the virtual testing facility to be offered to academia and SMEs internationally: TEF-Health. Through the joint innovation milieu, we aim to coordinate needs for services and support for precision medicine and diagnostics, and to engage with research communities and users within the field on the national level. We strive to make tools, project information, code and data as open as possible with the FAIR principles at the core. SciLifeLab DC is a central unit within SciLifeLab with responsibility for IT- and data management issues, serving the SciLifeLab and the Data Driven Life Science (DDLS) research program. We also work with issues about FAIR data and open science, and in close collaboration with major national and international partners. Working at the Data Centre, you will be at the core of Sweden’s top infrastructure for life sciences and have the opportunity to actively shape how state-of-the-art IT and data science are integrated in Swedish life science research, and help to maximize the scientific impact of the large amount of research data generated at SciLifeLab, KI and used within research also at the clinic.
