Beyond the Image: Connecting Scale, Modality and Data in Bioimaging

May 18 @ 00:00 – May 20 @ 23:59 CEST

The inaugural Cellular and Molecular Imaging (CMI) Platform Symposium will take place 18–20 May 2027 at the Wallenberg Conference Center in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Under the theme Beyond the Image: Connecting Scale, Modality and Data in Bioimaging, the symposium will bring together scientists, imaging specialists, facility professionals and technology experts from Sweden and the international imaging community, spanning basic, applied and translational life sciences.

The programme will explore the latest advances in cellular and molecular imaging across spatial scales and modalities, from cutting-edge light and electron microscopy, NanoSIMS and emerging imaging technologies to multimodal approaches, AI, automation, image analysis and data workflows. Particular emphasis will be placed on how different technologies and types of data can be integrated to provide a more comprehensive understanding of complex biological systems. The symposium will provide a welcoming forum to discover new technologies, share scientific advances and expertise, discuss current challenges, and foster new collaborations across disciplines, technologies and research communities.

The CMI Platform is part of SciLifeLab, Sweden’s national infrastructure for molecular biosciences, providing researchers with access to advanced imaging technologies, instrumentation and specialist scientific expertise.

We look forward to welcoming you to Gothenburg for CMI 2027!
