Latest SciLifeLab research endeavors presented at Science Talks 2020

Last week, the SciLifeLab research symposium Science Talks was streamed live from Campus Solna. During the 3-day event, starting on Wednesday, SciLifeLab researchers had the opportunity to present their ongoing work to the SciLifeLab community as well as receiving updates about developments at the SciLifeLab research infrastructure.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the symposium was streamed online for the first time ever and at times more than 150 viewers watched simultaneously. A majority of the participants felt that the virtual format worked well for this type of community meeting.

Except for the research presentations, SciLifeLab Campus Solna Director Per Ljungdahl held an opening speech on Wednesday and the event ended with the winner announcement of the Digital Vernissage, Visualizing Research, at SciLifeLab Campus Solna, followed by a closing note from SciLifeLab Director Olli Kallioniemi.

The symposium was organized by the executive committee, SciLifeLab fellows, postdocs and students. All researchers were encouraged to present unpublished data.
