Minister for Education visits SciLifeLab
On February 14, Mats Persson, Minister for Education, visited SciLifeLab to discuss its impact on Sweden as a leading nation in life sciences.
During the visit, Mats Persson was introduced to SciLifeLab’s operations and the role of research infrastructure as a driving force for technology and data-driven life science in Sweden. Following presentations by Ylva Engström (Chair of the SciLifeLab Board), and Mia Phillipson (Co-Director SciLifeLab), Sandra Falck (Vice Head of Operations SciLifeLab), moderated a discussion focusing on how SciLifeLab contributes to further strengthening Sweden’s scientific capacity.
Furthermore, the minister visited the sequencing facility at National Genomics Infrastructure, NGI, that is one part of SciLifeLab’s national research infrastructure. The NGI is directed by Tuuli Lappalainen, who also hosted the laboratory visit.
