New SciLifeLab Group Leader process and upcoming Call for nominations
SciLifeLab management has been diligently working on updating the process for selecting SciLifeLab Group Leaders, including nomination procedures, criteria, and evaluation methods. This initiative aims to ensure a fair, transparent, and strategic approach to identifying group leaders who will drive our mission forward.
The new process is set to be approved by the SciLifeLab Board in September. Following this approval, SciLifeLab will promptly open the call for nominations. We encourage both current and prospective group leaders to apply. Notably, all current SciLifeLab Group Leaders will also be required to reapply under the new criteria, with the exception of SciLifeLab & DDLS Fellows, Platform Directors, Platform co-Directors and Heads of Unit, that are SciLifeLab Group Leaders by default.
A significant update in this process is the decoupling of the SciLifeLab Group Leader criteria from the nominee’s physical location and funding. This change emphasizes our commitment to recognizing and rewarding contributions based solely on objective criteria that align with SciLifeLab’s strategic objectives.
