In a study involving several researchers at SciLifeLab as well as the Proteomics platform, a new biomarker for intraplaque hemorrhage and plaque instability has been identified. The novel translational approach applied for biomarker discovery in this study permits causal interpretation of candidates directly in relation to the underlying disease and paves the way for similar investigations in other vascular territories. The study was published in JACC: Basic to Translational Science.
