Pilot units approved
The Steering group of SciLifeLab in Stockholm has decided to approve 8 projects at Karolinska Institutet, KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Stockholm University to become pilot units at SciLifeLab.
In July 2015 The Steering group of SciLifeLab in Stockholm opened a call for proposals for development projects. A total of 30 applications were sent in and the steering group has now, after external evaluation, decided to approve 8 of these to become pilot units. The pilot units will get SFO-funding for 2 years to develop and improve their activities. They will then be evaluated and possibly become candidate units in the next evaluation of the SciLifeLab infrastructure. The Steering group of SciLifeLab in Uppsala are currently evaluating applications for pilot units at the Uppsala node.
The approved pilot units are:
Main applicant | Pilot unit |
Jan-Willem de Gier | Escherichia coli strain collection for protein production |
Mats Nilsson | In situ sequencing unit |
Joakim Lundeberg | Infrastructure based on Spacial transcriptomics technology |
Hjalmar Brismar | Next Generation Selective Plane Illumination Microscopy for High-Resolution Tissue Imaging |
Rickard Sandberg | Ultra-low cost single-cell RNA-sequencing using acoustic droplet ejection |
Anna Falk | Human induced pluripotent stem (iPS) unit |
Xiaodong Zou | Electron Nanocrystallography |
Alexey Amunts | Computational service at the existing cry-EM unit |
