Leukocyte radio communication and antibodies’ secret language: 21 colorful strategies for battling the coronavirus
We’ve got mail!
This morning, we received a lovely letter from Förskolevägens preschool outside Gothenburg. Inspired by their thematic work on the human body over the last year, 21 children aged five to six have drawn up plans for how to battle the ongoing pandemic.
“Together with the children, we’ve explored topics such as the skeleton, formation of blood in the bone marrow and the immune system”, says teacher Emma Hedenström. “After starting to hear about the coronavirus on the news, we got interested in Covid-19 research. The children have now come up with their own approaches to how a treatment or vaccine could be designed”.
The ideas from these engaged preschoolers will be relayed to the scientists working in our SciLifeLab National COVID-19 Research Program.
