Ylva Engström has been elected new chair of the SciLifeLab Board

Ylva Engström, professor at the Department of Molecular Biosciences at Stockholm University and member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences since 2009, has today been appointed new chair of the SciLifeLab board by the Swedish government.

She is currently part of the National reference group of the SciLifeLab and Wallenberg National Program for Data-Driven Life Science.

“Ylva Engström has solid research experience and many years of experience as a leader in academia. I want to wish her good luck on her new assignment and hope for a rewarding collaboration in the future”, says Matilda Ernkrans, Minister of Higher Education and Research, in a press release from the Swedish government.

Ylva will succeed the former chair of the SciLifeLab board, Carl-Henrik Heldin, who has held the position over the last six years. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Carl-Henrik for his dedicated work as chair of the SciLifeLab board.
