I am an Assistant Professor in genomics, bioengineering and biophysics. My lab bridges these fields to create new single-cell and non-invasive diagnostic methods. Focusing on metabolism, we have uncovered functional and transcriptional differences in pancreatic cells in diabetes. We are now mapping this heterogeneity to its spatial context using advanced imaging and genomics. Overall, we apply data-driven approaches to investigate cellular heterogeneity and develop sequencing-based diagnostics.
