Therapeutic Protein Engineering
The Therapeutic Protein Engineering (TPE) unit provides recombinant proteins needed for biochemical screening and therapeutic applications as well as antigens for human antibody production using bacterial and mammalian expression systems. The unit also houses competence and machinery to characterize purified proteins in detail, like binding, stability, and aggregation tendency.
The TPE unit also does phage display selection, characterisation and engineering of antibodies and antibody fragments. This work is shared with our sister unit in Lund: Display & Selection Technologies. More information can be found under that unit.
Recently, the TPE unit acquired CHOZN® GS-/- and CHOZN® CHO-K1 cell lines from Merck Life Science, which enables us to offer cell line development to our academic users. We can offer mini pools, produce GLP-grade tox batches and select GMP-ready high producing clones using the Cytena Up.Sight instrument. This strengthens our ability to support projects from discovery through to clinical material.
