Launch of Biobanking Analysis Resource Catalogue (BARC)

The BBMRI.se (BioBanking and Molecular Resource Infrastructure of Sweden) is now introducing the BARC (Biobanking Analysis Resource Catalogue), which is a freely available catalogue describing expertise and molecular analysis resources available at centers and companies in Sweden for analysis of biobanked samples.

An overriding aim for BBMRI.se is to match the high-quality samples located in the Swedish biobanks with optimal technologies, reagents and advanced expertise available in Swedish laboratories and to coordinate these resources for successful research that can be promptly translated to clinical and industrial use.

The catalogue is designed for researchers on how best to make use of valuable samples, from preanalytical handling and sample preparation to analysis techniques themselves and their requirements.

21 of the 40 academic resources are part of the Science for Life Laboratory.

BARC is developed and managed at the Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology, Uppsala University, Sweden.
