[Clinical Talks] Genetic Testing for a Global Community
March 31 @ 09:00 – 09:30 CEST
Samuel Myllykangas
Biography
Samuel Myllykangas, adjunct Professor at the Institute of Biomedicine, University of Helsinki, and co-founder of Blueprint Genetics. Samuel started his career by designing an entirely new method of sequencing the DNA (Oligonucleotide-Selective Sequencing) while working on his post-doctorate in the Stanford University. This method, published in Nature, sparked an idea of his own genetics company where he could apply his invention in the diagnostics of rare disease patients. Since then, Samuel has built an extensive experience in developing genomics technologies, bioinformatics tools and genetic testing solutions for rare diseases. Samuel runs Specialty Genetics at Quest Diagnostics and is the Managing Director of Blueprint Genetics. He is responsible for the overall success of the business, leading the development and execution of strategy and delivering on financial and operational targets.
