Course content
This course will introduce the best practice bioinformatics methods to assemble and annotate genomes via a series of lectures, group work and computer practicals.
Topics covered will include:
- Quality Assessment of sequencing data
- Long read technologies and assemblies and assembly polishing
- Assembly Validation
- Hi-C sequencing
- Method in Structural Annotation
- Abinitio annotation
- Annotation with maker
- Abinitio training
- Functional annotation
- Submission to DB
- Bacterial annotation
Entry requirements
Required for being able to follow the course and complete the computer exercises:
- Mandatory to complete a short command line course prior to the event. This will be made available to enrolled participants
The course is limited to 25 people, and maximum 2 participants per national ELIXIR node (except Norway). The course is an advanced course. Based on the information collected upon registration, the course organizers will enroll participants.
