Business council delegation from Saudi Arabia visits SciLifeLab

As part of the third annual meeting of the Saudi-Swedish Joint Business Council (SSJBC), a business council delegation from the Saudi Chamber of Commerce visited SciLifeLab Solna on May 9 to learn more of the research and innovation taking place in the Swedish life science sector.

The delegation was greeted by Strategic Relations Officer Lars Hammarström and Director Olli Kallioniemi, who gave an introduction to the SciLifeLab model. Presentations to the council included overviews of metabolic engineering of microorganisms for biofuel production from SciLifeLab Fellow Paul Hudson, academic drug discovery efforts by DDD Director Per Arvidsson, and precision medicine approaches to breast cancer diagnosis in Saudi women by postdoctoral researcher Kelvin Kwok.
