Call for Academic and Industrial PhD Projects in Data-Driven Life Science: Applications Now Open
The SciLifeLab & Wallenberg National Program for Data-Driven Life Science (DDLS) is pleased to announce that the 2025 call for PhD projects within academia and industry is now officially open.
DDLS is a 12-year initiative, funded with a total of 3.3 billion SEK by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. One of the program’s main missions is to train the next generation of data-driven life scientists and to establish world-leading computational and data science capabilities within Swedish life science.
The DDLS Research School will over the years train 260 PhD students across academia and industry and aims to develop highly skilled professionals who will make a significant impact in the Swedish life science sector.
PhD students will be hosted at universities or companies within Sweden, connecting them to strong local research environments and the national DDLS program.
The DDLS program focuses on four strategic areas of data-driven research:
Cell and Molecular Biology
Evolution and Biodiversity
Precision Medicine and Diagnostics
Epidemiology and Biology of Infection
We invite Principal Investigators to submit proposals for innovative data-driven research projects and training opportunities for PhD students in these strategic areas.
