Call for Clinical Technology Development Projects

Precision medicine is transforming healthcare, and Sweden has high ambitions to be a leading nation within the area. To strengthen SciLifeLab’s contribution towards precision medicine research and implementation in Sweden, the capabilities for Precision Medicine and Pandemic Laboratory Preparedness (PLP) now open a joint call for Clinical Technology Development Projects addressing unmet clinical needs.

“With this call, we invite SciLifeLab infrastructure units and PLP units to engage with clinical researchers and submit proposals for collaborative projects that have potential to advance precision medicine within a relatively near future. The projects should focus on technology development towards a well-defined clinical application”, says Åsa Johansson, Scientific Lead for Precision Medicine at SciLifeLab.

The aims of the call are to support the SciLifeLab infrastructure and PLP units in adapting methods towards clinical applications and strengthen their connections to clinical researchers and healthcare.

“The process of implementing research methods in the clinic is associated with several challenges and requires close collaboration with healthcare. We hope that this call will fuel such collaborative efforts and we welcome applications within any type of disease” says Staffan Svärd, Scientific Lead for Pandemic Laboratory Preparedness at SciLifeLab.

A digital information meeting about the call will be held on March 7 at 12-13.
