A large delegation from Japan including Toshimitsu Motegi (minister for economic revitalisation and economic reform) and Jun Yamasaki (Japanese ambassador to Sweden) visited SciLifeLab in Solna on Thursday May 3rd as a part of the minister’s visit to Sweden during the week. The delegation was introduced to SciLifeLab and it’s key focus areas, ongoing collaborations between SciLifeLab and RIKEN, and select facilities including Genomics and Advanced Light Microscopy were visited.
“We are delighted that the minister specifically asked to visit SciLifeLab as part of his trip. Japan’s interest in SciLifeLab is a testament to our central role in the Swedish life science community and our growing international recognition as a source of scientific excellence. We hope our discussions will be beneficial for increased scientific exchange between our countries”, said Olli Kallioniemi, Director of SciLifeLab.
