REMEDi4ALL, an ambitious EU-funded research initiative, launches to drive forward the repurposing of medicines in Europe

SciLifeLab Infrastructure and researchers from Karolinska Institutet and Uppsala University contribute to the REMEDi4ALL project that kicks off with the ambition of establishing a European research and innovation eco-system that facilitates fast and cost-effective patient-centric development and access to repurposed medicines. The project involves 24 European organizations and will receive 23M euros from Horizon Europe over the next 5 years.

SciLifeLab participating platform, the Chemical Biology and Genome Engineering Platform, and its associated researchers combine expertise in the development and use of in-silico and in-vitro driven drug repurposing, with the realization of workflows for detailed drug mechanism of action understanding. The team that will be leading different parts of the project from Sweden consists of: Päivi Östling (SciLifeLab/KI), Annika Jenmalm Jensen (SciLifeLab/KI), Brinton Seashore-Ludlow (SciLifeLab/KI), Anna-Lena Gustavsson (SciLifeLab/KI), Marianna Tampere (SciLifeLab/KI), Ola Spjuth (SciLifeLab/Uppsala University) and Jordi Carreras Puigvert (SciLifeLab/Uppsala University).
