SciLifeLab Science Summit 2026 to focus on translating cancer research into clinical breakthroughs
On October 14, researchers from academia, healthcare and industry will gather for this year’s SciLifeLab Science Summit. The theme, Cancer Research: Translating Life Science Discoveries to Clinical Breakthroughs, will highlight how advances in life science are improving our understanding of cancer and creating new opportunities for diagnosis and treatment.
The summit features leading international and Swedish researchers, including Gabriele Bergers (VIB-KU Leuven), Ari Molofsky (UCSF), Iñaki Martin-Subero (IDIBAPS), and Bernd Bodenmiller (University of Zurich/ETH Zurich). Topics will range from cancer immunology and the tumour microenvironment to precision oncology, genomics and spatial biology.

The programme also includes a roundtable discussion on what is needed to translate Swedish cancer discoveries into clinical implementation, alongside flash talks, poster sessions and networking opportunities.
