They predict superfast protein movement

Researchers at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm University and Institute for Biomedical Research Barcelona have developed a minimalistic algorithm that predicts how proteins move to perform their biological function. The work demonstrates that protein motion is dictated by their overall shape, and will improve the understanding of how proteins function and in the long term help to develop new pharmacological drugs. The study was led by Erik Lindahl, Stockholm University/SciLifeLab and published in Nature Communications online.
