Thomas Helleday and Kerstin Lindblad-Toh receive 2013 Göran Gustafsson award

SciLifeLab researchers Thomas Helleday and Kerstin Lindblad-Toh receive the Göran Gustafsson award. The prize is Sweden´s largest national research prize in natural science to young researchers.

 

Thomas Helleday, professor in chemical biology at Karolinska Institutet and researcher at SciLifeLab Stockholm, is awarded the prize “for his impressive work to find new cancer drugs aimed at defective DNA-repair mechanisms in cancer cells”.

Kerstin Lindblad-Toh, professor in comparative genomics at Uppsala University and director at SciLifeLab in Uppsala, is awarded the prize ”for her studies on mammalian genetics, which has led to the identification of the functional parts of the genetic code”.
