SciLifeLab 2027 Pride T-Shirt Design Contest

For Pride 2027, SciLifeLab is creating a new Pride T-shirt in collaboration with the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at SciLifeLab (DEIS) group who have been providing Pride shirts for the last few years. This year, however, we want the design to come from you!

We’ve heard your feedback that you’d like to see more community-driven initiatives across SciLifeLab, and we thought this would be a great opportunity to create something together. At a time of both progress, and a troubling rise in anti-LGBTQIA+ rhetoric and hostility, we want to make it clear that SciLifeLab proudly stands with all of our colleagues.

Share your design

We’re inviting everyone in the SciLifeLab community to submit a design for the Pride 2027 T-shirt. Design submissions are open now until October 27th.

From October 27th to November 27th, the SciLifeLab community will be able to vote for their favorite designs. After voting closes, we’ll announce the design that will become our Pride 2027 T-shirt.

And the other designs won’t go to waste! All submissions will be displayed across SciLifeLab sites, and we also plan to turn the designs into stickers.

Competition rules:

We want to give you as much freedom as possible with your design, but there are a few things to keep in mind. Before you get started, please review the guidelines on the SciLifeLab visual identity page.

• If you use the SciLifeLab logo, please use one of the official versions and do not alter or modify it. The logo (or symbol) should be clearly visible and not placed too close to other graphic elements. As a rule of thumb, leave clear space around the logo equal to at least the size of the logotype’s ‘a’ on all sides.
• The SciLifeLab symbol can also be used on its own. The logo and symbol may only be used in black, lime or white. You can download the official files from the SciLifeLab visual identity page.
• If you include text in your design, the SciLifeLab fonts are Lato and Lora.

Before the designs go up for voting, we’ll also do a quick check to make sure they follow the guidelines.

Helpful design tips:

You can create your design using any platform you are comfortable with. We recommend exploring tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Canva and Inkscape, which are user-friendly and easy to get started with.

Please submit your design in PDF format so that we can use it for printing and other materials.

Creating a design isn’t the only way to contribute. Vote for your favorites, enjoy and share the designs, talk about the initiative, or simply help us spread the word. Every contribution and interaction is welcome and helps make this a community initiative.
