Abstract
Advances in genomics and diagnostics are transforming how we detect, monitor, and respond to infectious diseases. This talk highlights emerging tools and approaches that combine rapid diagnostic techniques with genomic insights to support real-time public health action. It explores the potential of new technologies to enhance sensitivity, specificity, and accessibility of testing, and examines how these innovations can be applied across a range of settings and pathogens. Drawing on global collaborations and practical examples, the presentation emphasises the value of integrated strategies in strengthening infectious disease control and preparedness worldwide.
