International student competition on molecular biosensors open

Students from different interdisciplinary programs at Uppsala University are invited to build a scientific team with broad skills to work with different research groups and develop a molecular biosensor.

SensUs is an international student competition on molecular biosensors for healthcare applications, supported by SciLifeLab. Ten universities from three continents, including Uppsala University, will participate in SensUs2017 competition that will be held in early autumn 2017 in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

The mission of SensUs is to stimulate the development of molecular health sensing technologies by organizing an international competition for teams of students. In a friendly competitive manner, SensUs will challenge multidisciplinary teams of students to conceive and build innovative molecular biosensing systems. The competition will give students a unique chance to gain experience in goal-oriented multidisciplinary teamwork and in innovative technological design.

Students enrolled in a BSc, MSc or similar programs at Uppsala University are welcome to apply by sending a motivation letter and CV to masood.kamali@igp.uu.se no later than 2016-11-15.

We also encourage the scientists (Professors, post-docs, PhD students) at Uppsala University to participate as coaches and supervisors.
