Events, seminars and symposia
Bringing life science professionals together and furthering skills in the scientific community are in SciLifeLab’s DNA. Our many events spanning a wide range of topics, present opportunities to develop your know-how and share your own experiences and network – sparking new ideas, as well as new collaborations. All events are free and open to everyone (unless otherwise stated), and we warmly welcome participants from industry, academia, healthcare, and beyond.
To support lifelong learning, the SciLifeLab Training Hub offers a vibrant community where instructors and learners come together to gain new skills and grow through shared knowledge. Explore all our courses, training, and educational offerings at training.scilifelab.se.
The aim is to establish proof-of-concept for life science research with expressed (pre-)clinical relevance. This will be achieved by forming a closed loop from biomedical research question (initiated by pre-clinical researchers) to returning actionable biological results, in terms of mechanisms and potential biomarkers and targets. In this open hearing we would like to identify preclinical […]
The purpose of this on-line meeting is to explore opportunities for joint and multidisciplinary research ventures between researchers working within data-driven life science and researchers from the humanities and social sciences working on Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems. The meeting is divided in two parts, one with focus on information, where an upcoming call for […]
EASI-Genomics is an EU-funded consortium of sixteen partners, including eleven of the largest genomic facilities in Europe, which provides easy and seamless access to state-of-the-art DNA sequencing technologies to researchers from academia and industry within a framework that ensures compliance with ethical and legal requirements, as well as FAIR and secure data management (https://www.easi-genomics.eu). On March 7th-8th, EASI-Genomics will organize a hybrid event for stakeholders from the scientific […]

At these two seminars you will hear about the two techniques of electrosynthesis and photoredoxchemistry, used more and more today by organic chemists. We will get some background information to the techniques and examples from how it is used in Helena’s and Markus’ labs. After the seminars we hope that you better understand when the […]
Six leading companies in the field of modern mass spectrometry will present their latest news about analytical applications and technologies. The spectrum of topics will cover metabolomics, proteomics and give special attention to targeted applications. Both mass spectrometry in combination with separation by liquid chromatography and by gas chromatography will be covered. The event is […]
A half day dedicated to kinases in drug discovery organized by SciLifeLab DDD in collaboration with AstraZeneca. Kinases continue to attract much attention in drug discovery. Since the first compounds were launched in 2001 the learning curve of how to tackle different challenges has been steep. At the symposium we hope to give a broad […]
Prof. Aitziber Cortajarena, Research Professor Scientific Director
Center for Cooperative Research in Biomaterials (CIC biomaGUNE) Spain will talk about Protein engineering for functional hybrids and biomaterials: applications in biomedicine and technology.
Pedro Ojeda May
Senior research engineer at High Performance Computing Centre North
Fredrik Liedberg (Urologist at Skåne University Hospital in Malmö) will present insights from UROSCAN & UROSCANSEQ: a large-scale multicentre effort towards translation of molecular bladder cancer subtypes into clinical practice - from biobank to RNA-sequencing in real time. Join us to learn about clinical implementation of bladder cancer subtypes. The event has been organized by […]
This workshop will showcase how to leverage the Research Data Alliance (RDA) to support life science research today and what role the RDA and international data infrastructures can play in the transition to an increasingly data-driven research practice. It is organised by ELIXIR, NBIS and the Science for Life Laboratory (SciLifeLab) and includes speakers on […]
Prof. David A. Hafler, Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, USA, will talk about The Underlying Cause of Human Autoimmune Disease
Johan Unge
MicroED core manager and collaborator with the Gonen lab at UCLA, Los Angeles.
Cells have evolved multitiered protein quality control systems to help maintain protein homeostasis, but under acute or chronic proteotoxic stresses, these systems overload and result in accumulation of toxic protein aggregates. Decreased cellular capacity in aggregate clearance could trigger cell dysfunction and death leading to disease and ageing. Human cells possess an Hsp70-based disaggregase system […]
