Two SciLifeLab Fellows: Alexey Amunts and Kristina Jonas, have received grants from the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (SSF) within their program for young researchers (Framtidens Forskningsledare).
The program rewards Swedish or international researchers at top international level. In total 20 researchers will recieve 12 million SEK each for 5 years. The grant enables independent research and the awardees are expected to lead a larger group why a leadership program is included in the grant.
Alexey Amunts receives the grant for his project “Characterization of protein synthesis in the mitochondrion” and Kristina Jonas for her project “New mechanisms in bacterial growth regulation”.
