Affiliation guidelines
Correct affiliation with SciLifeLab is essential for visibility, reporting, evaluation, and funding. It ensures that your research and contributions can be accurately identified, counted, and credited across publications, shared data, educational and research presentations, university web pages, and researcher profiles such as ORCID.
Accurate affiliation helps ensure that SciLifeLab’s contributions and research impact are properly recognised. If affiliation information is missing, unclear, or incorrect, research outputs may be overlooked in bibliometric analyses, monitoring, follow-up, and external reporting.
Researchers affiliated with SciLifeLab are expected to affiliate correctly with SciLifeLab in all relevant contexts and in alignment with the affiliation regulations of their respective host university.

Who should affiliate?
All SciLifeLab Group Leaders (including Fellows), managers, members and staff of SciLifeLab infrastructure units are expected to list SciLifeLab as a secondary affiliation, in alignment with the affiliation regulations of their respective host university.
Why correct affiliation is essential?
Correct affiliation in publications is important for bibliometric reporting, visibility externally and internally, visibility for you and for funders, and for follow-up linked to grants and funding. Publications with unclear, incorrect, or overly broad affiliations risk exclusion from analyses, evaluations, and follow-up, especially when external databases are used. Properly stated affiliations are a significant factor in funding allocation, bibliometric points, and national and international visibility.
Additional requirement for DDLS Fellows: DDLS Fellows must also include the following acknowledgement in all publications, research and educational presentations, popular science appearances and press releases:
“This work was supported by the SciLifeLab & Wallenberg Data Driven Life Science Program (grant: KAW 2020.0239)”
Additional requirement for SciLifeLab infrastructure staff:
Platform AND/OR Unit, Science for Life Laboratory (SciLifeLab), City, Sweden
How to affiliate according to you host universities
| Example: First name, Surname 1,2 1) Department of Mathematical Sciences Chalmers University of Technology and University of Gothenburg SE-412 96 Gothenburg, Sweden 2) Science for Life Laboratory (SciLifeLab), Sweden Researchers employed by Chalmers University of Technology and affiliated with SciLifeLab should write Science for Life Laboratory, Sweden as a secondary affiliation. SciLifeLab is not included in the CRIS system used at Chalmers University of Technology. |

Secondary affiliation is often used for collaborations, research infrastructures, or networks. |
Presentations on university web pages
Your SciLifeLab affiliation should also be clearly stated on your university web pages (profile page, lab web page, including external pages, etc.). Make sure to follow the regulations and practices of your host university. This makes your connection to SciLifeLab visible to colleagues, collaborators, students, funders, and external stakeholders. It also helps create a clear and consistent presentation across institutional channels and makes the relationship between the researcher, the university, and SciLifeLab easier to understand.
ORCID affiliation and organizational identifiers
SciLifeLab affiliation should also be added to your ORCID record using the correct organizational identifier. This improves visibility, discoverability, interoperability between systems, and the ability to connect research outputs to the correct organization in a standardized way.

Domain and subdomain policy
SciLifeLab’s main digital display is the website scilifelab.se. We strive to direct other channels towards that website, to ensure consistent information with one main source.
Privacy policy
The personal data you provide in the registration form enables SciLifeLab to register and contact you about your attendance at the event. If you want to remove your personal data, please contact events@scilifelab.se.
Channels
Slack is an online lightweight communication tool.
The SciLifeLab Slack workspace is scilifelab.slack.com – anyone with an email address that ends in scilifelab.se, scilifelab.uu.se, bils.se or nbis.se can immediately register themselvesat the workspace.
Anyone else: request an invite by emailing datacentre@scilifelab.se.
At Campus Solna and in Uppsala’s Navet, there are information screens, also known as our digital signs, that display content using the PLAYipp software.
To promote an upcoming event, submit a flyer image (1920×1080 px, horizontal orientation) to events@scilifelab.se. To post on other topics, contact news@scilifelab.se. You’re allowed to have your flyer up for two weeks, unless it’s a recurring event.
